Siena Marie

Inspired by a childhood poring over National Geographic’s timeless images and travels ranging from Guatemala to Greece, I’ve always been drawn to the vibrancy of cultures, stories, and age-old terrain. As a part of a tight-knit family, I also hold love and familial connections very close to my heart. I cherish the commonplace glimpses of beauty that these things afford us.

When I photograph weddings, this is what I am on the lookout for. I’m a seeker of light, conversation, laughter, and nostalgia before it’s come to pass. My goal is to find and document this violin-string sort of beauty in the lives of my clients, just as I see it in my own.

In all of this, my first and foremost love is for the Lord. And, subsequently, for the stories He crafts in the lives of every creature He has made. That's why my ultimate aim is to do my work here for His glory and delight. It's like Eric Liddell in Chariots of Fire: "God made me fast. And when I run, I feel His pleasure." I’m no olympic sprinter, but it's a true blessing to "feel His pleasure" as I practice this art that I love so very much.

I’m a detail-oriented perfectionist, which is why I think it's essential for my type-A brides (and grooms!) to feel confident that all the timeline elements of the wedding day have been addressed ahead of time. It’s also why I understand the desire to run free in whimsy and romance in spite of one’s schedule-oriented propensities. Very much an Anne of Green Gables meets Hermione Granger type of combo.

I’m also the oldest daughter and a die-hard family girl, which drives my efforts to remember the names of all your loved ones during family portraits and dedicate extra attention to photos of grandma. The truth is, you never know how long you’ll have each of these dear people – it’s important to me to capture as much as I possibly can of all this.

philosophy.

I'm a firm believer in the truth that
 "...we are God's masterpiece..."
and as such, there is not a moment of life that is not worthy of capture.

I've been carrying around a camera almost as long as I can remember. I can never really decide what it is that has kept drawing me back to taking pictures.

It's light and color and bare humanity itself

And it's love! What is this world without love? I don't think there would be a single photo to take without it.

Love I’ve known firsthand in my own life has heavily shaped my work. The multifaceted reality of agape, eros, storge, and philos are a consistent source of inspiration, and seeing those same rhythms of tender affection in the lives of my clients deeply guides what I focus on in the wedding day. It’s one of my most consistent joys in life to document moments like these for each of my couples.

"We couldn't have asked for a more perfect photographer!!"

My wife and I got married this April and Siena was an absolute delight to work with... Serena and I sent Siena what we were looking for and she was immediately on board and went above and beyond to deliver... Siena captured the essence and feeling of the whole day in her pictures, so much so that we both have had a very difficult time picking which ones to share!! We still can’t pick which ones to print! Highly recommend Siena, she is fantastic, sweet, flexible and understanding and extremely talented.

Alongside my wedding work, I offer humanitarian photography for nonprofit organizations internationally, donating the same intentional imagery that I bring to each wedding day.
